Co Create was able to do the shopfit for St Petroc’s charity shop on Paris street. This was a community initiative and was one of our first official commissions. If you haven’t already, go check out the shop - it’s brilliant!

We love having the opportunity to walk alongside amazing individuals and hear their story of how Co Create has impacted their lives. This month we caught up with Lisa - who is an incredibly valuable member of the Co Create community - and asked her some questions about her involvement with Co Create and the personal impact it has had on her life.

Hi Lisa! For those of us who don’t know you, could you tell us a bit about how you first got involved with Co Create? And perhaps what courses you’ve enjoyed attending and leading since then?

I heard about Co Create during an art class at Co Lab ‘Resilient women’ before the pandemic. Since then, I’ve come along to a number of different courses and workshops. In particular, I loved Women in the Workshop, making reindeers(!), leather work and Form & Foster. I have really enjoyed delivering the mindful mark making workshop and I look forward to running an embroidery session soon.

What’s your favourite thing about Co Create?

My favourite thing about Co Create is the people. It is an inclusive and supportive space where we can all feel valued and share our skills with each other in a safe space without judgement.

How has Co Create impacted your life?

Co Create has impacted my life by helping me regain my confidence in myself and what I have to offer, I've made new friends and learnt how to use my combi drill properly (I've owned it since 2007 and only ever used it as an electric screwdriver!).
