Newsletter Issue #8 - November 2023

These breakout spaces were made from birch ply and CLS timber and were commissioned by St James’ school SEN department. The pods are designed to be interactive learning spaces for reflective and one-to-one sessions within the classroom.

The challenge is not just how to make a project work but how to get it out of our second floor workshop and narrow staircase. For this project these pods were bolted together in four sections so we could transport and assemble on site. They are made from CLS stud work and clad with kerf-bent 4mm ply on the inside and out. They come fitted with LED lighting, upholstered seats, melamine coated ply tabletop and heavy-duty lockable castors for easy movement.

Pete

Pete heads up our poetry & spoken word workshops at Co Create, and is passionate about exploring how creative writing and words impact and shape our lives and wellbeing. Pete also heads up some of our woodwork projects as well as overseeing pastoral care.

The thing Pete loves the most about working for Co Create is the opportunity to get to know people whilst making and creating. He loves to hear people’s stories and find’s it exciting and inspiring observing how community is formed through developing new skills.
